The Gate-Stones of Lunestriel
The Elves are one of the Dowmarii, meaning portal-born. They came through the Gate-Stones to Lunestriel along with other races, such as dwarves and humans. They are one of the many Dowmarii races which entered Lunestriel from the Gate-Stones.
Elves are agile-looking creatures with sharp, pointed features. They are easily noticed by their thin features coupled with long, pointed ears. They stand at an average height of 5’8" to 6’4" and weigh around 100 to 160 pounds. Their skin tones range widely, though pale white to dark tan are very common; It is not uncommon for elves to have hues of green, blue, and brown. Their hair color varies as their skin does, with gold, brown, black, and even red, orange, and green not uncommon. Their slanted, narrow eyes are vibrant colors of blue, gold, green, silver, and brown. They often live to be over 400 years old.
Elves generally feel a strong connection to nature and strive to live in harmony with it. Naturally talented craftsmen and artisans, they create prized works, particularly in wood, bone, ivory, and leather. They find working in stone and the earth to be distasteful however. Slender and agile, elves are skilled rangers. From a young age, they learn to use longbows.
Elves also have an appreciation for the written word, magic, and painstaking research. Their naturally keen minds and senses, combined with their inborn patience, make them particularly suited to wizardry. Arcane research and accomplishment are seen as both practical goals, in line with being a soldier or architect, and artistic endeavors as great as poetry or sculpture. Within elven society, wizards are held in extremely high regard as masters of an art both powerful and aesthetically valued. Other spellcasters are not disdained, but do not gain the praise lavished upon elven wizards.
