The Catfolk were among the original races that called Lunestriel their home before the arrival of the Dowmarii, which means “Portal-Born” in Ancient Lunerii. The Catfolk are of the Lomarii, meaning “Lunar-Born” in Ancient Lunerii. While the elves and humans are relatively new to Lunestriel, the Catfolk are an old race and have two subgroups.

Catfolk range in their appearance but look very much like a bipedal cat. They have pointed triangular ears. Covered in fur, they come in a great variety of colors and patterns. Some groups of Catfolk are known based on the color and pattern of their fur while others have no such distinction.

Catfolk are adventurous and independent but have strong ties to those they trust. In the same way, they are wary of strangers though this does not mean they will not welcome visitors or make friends with those different from them. Catfolk strongly encourage self-exploration. They tend to travel a great deal and wander often. They are quite accepting as a society.

Quick on their feet, they are nimble and graceful warriors. They tend to prefer life out in the open, as opposed to life in a city, though this is not always the case. Catfolk society is such that, whatever the pursuit, they are generally accepted. Catfolk society is open and varied, because life takes many walks, as the Catfolk saying goes. Silent and fast, they are quite subtle. Because of this, they have a reputation for thievery and some consider them untrustworthy, though there is little truth in this stereotype.
